From a leisurely, a little bit frightening with its mystery " Awakening" composition this album sprung up. The melody of the " Ballet" comes to the
world from the beating dance of synthetic melodies. Caught up by an air stream
we are moving through a canyon between two steep spurs to a valley lost amongst
snowy alps where a primitive tribe has just begun its ritual dance. All of
a sudden a remote past of mankind becomes tangible. A sensation of primeval
nature and consciousness remaining somewhere deep inside, not touched by
human civilization is being created by a man -- caused electronic " Technologika" .
There are echoes of bygone battles and flashings of ancient bonfires in it.
Frank Van Bogaert carries out his investigation of a human nature. As
if he lays a bridge between the past and the future trying to reveal different
expressions of a human being. And now we see a grandiose city where snow-white
palaces and crystal-clear fountains scattered amongst shady alleys with age-old
trees hide indented apexes of unassailable walls and piles of snow-white
towers disappearing in the mist - the " Atmospheric Conditions" composition...
I confess that I have been looking forward to the appearance of this,
fourth by number, Frank Van Bogaert's album. My prime interest was to learn
what direction his creative search will follow. And the result has surpassed
all my expectations! Frank Van Bogaert has remained true to himself, his
music is sweet-sounding now as before. But at the same time it became more
improvisable. The composer sets free all his emotions to be fully expressed.
And this flight of fancy not being restrained by a classic structure enables
a listener to visualize freely. And moreover the good old electronic school
is easily recognized! In a masterly fashion Van Bogaert puts various vocal
samples into his melodies. In two of his compositions one can hear the parts
performed on true instruments: a saxophone in the " Meander" composition and
an viola Braguesa in the " Reunion" composition.
Frank Van Bogaert's album is called " Human" not by chance since his
music is full of vital energy, tenderness and sublimity of feelings (" Naked" and " Reve d'Afrique" compositions).
This album comes to the end with a romantic and cosmic " Warmth" composition.
The mankind marches into the era of interstellar flights, isn't it?
The album " Human" shall be interesting not for electronic music lovers
only but also for a wide circle of fans of new-age and the modern instrumental
music as a whole. I would like to denominate this project an excellent specimen
of the new electronic music, the specimen which shall adorn a collection
of every music-lover.
