Primal Instinct is a duet, which members are Alexander Baker
and Clair Marlo. During their trip to the tropical forests of Peru, the musicians
were so inspired by marvelous landscapes, that they decided to record the
album, which is presented in this review. Besides, the musicians not only
observed the incredible beauty and changeability of equatorial jungles, but
they also recorded various nature sounds. It is important to note here, that
these sounds are not only a background to the tracks of Primal Instinct.
They are the part of the music, being skillfully interweaved with the album
music. As a result, the album is very rich and bright. The group members
have not only used modern electric keyboards (they serve as a beautiful frame
for the music), but they have also played various traditional indian musical
instruments (pan flutes, piccolo flutes, ocarinas, didgeridoo, nose harp,
woodblock drum, kalimba, bongos, congas - and many others: the complete list
of the instruments looks rather impressive).
The album Heart Of The Rainforest was released by a young studio
Earthtone Records. The studio has celebrated the first year of its
foundation. This studio, where ethnical music from the whole world is recorded,
has a special love to the Indian music. On many albums released by the
«Earthtone Records», is represented music created by native inhabitants
of both american continents. The main goal of the company is the following:
at the time when the world becomes united, and the borders between nations
fall, it is very important to feel all the beauty and uniqueness of various
cultures and traditions to feel the harmony between people more clear.
Returning to the album Heart Of The Rainforest, one can say with
confidence that this one of the most interesting ethnical project, which
were released during the last time.
