When you’ ll intent to leave this world
Then ask yourself
What you have seen while living in it…

OXALA is a duet composed of Harida (santoor, tablas, drums, percussion) and Pedro Sotiry (keyboards). The idea of implementing the project "From A Different Planet" appeared when the musicians returned to their place of residence in Portugal after the performance in Lisbon and saw that everything around had become black after a fire. And there was not a sound as if they found themselves somewhere on the other planet…

The album "From A Different Planet" includes seven tracks of melodious electronic music. Strictly speaking it cannot be called a synthetic one in full measure since the performers, in a masterly fashion, arrange the sounding of electronic and real instruments which being mutually complementary create a special aura of the album. It is impossible to define the style of the album with the terms like chill out or lounge as far as "From A Different Planet"is the music-meditation first of all.

Not by chance the duet of musicians is called OXALA in Portuguese, the translation of this into English means "God within". This word can be found in other cultures. It sounds “ Inshallah” in the Arabic language. The musicians invite hearers to forget about the outside world and to get plunged in their own inner world inherent for every person only. The things which will take place in this world are just known by every concrete person. And all these worlds are so much different, and in this variety God presents…

Just such kind of music, bright in outward appearance, including all achievements of modern musical industry but yet inverted inwards, to a human spirit I would like to call the real new age music.

Taking into consideration the richness of a musical palette inherent in the album I would like to single out the "Gates of Agadir" composition which joins the West and the East.

If you want to turn from the outside world to the inner one, if you are just sick and tired of trying to avoid something, do listen to "From A Different Planet" album. This music will help to look at surrounding problems and your attitude to them in a new fashion.

To run away is an illusion.
Even if you’ re on a different planet
Everything will follow you...
