ANN LICATER
Doorway to a Dream

(c) (p) 2010 Ann Licater / Cul de Sac Mystic Productions

Relax and listen to the wind
Its singing brings the silence

This music is filled with a silence. The meditative flutes of Ann Licater call to start a journey towards your inner essence. They purify the mind and give you the capability to feel an endless space around you.

Ann Licater’s music has three-dimensionality and you easily realize as external boundaries expand and, then, they gradually disappear. You remain alone within a boundless world and you are made aware of your own being which is unique and at the same time it is an inseparable part of this world.

A group of remarkable artists help Ann Licater to create the album “Doorway to a Dream”. In this alliance we can notice such special guests as flutist from the god Peter Phippen (Edo Period, Japanese Shakuhachi), delicate melodist Jeff Oster (Flugelhorn), bright guitarist Shambhu (Guitar) and some other not less outstanding musicians.

My favorite composition from “Doorway to a Dream” is “Earth to Sky” where the flute of Ann Licater, Coral Electric Sitar of Jose Neto and Piano of Troy Arnett create together a very special, bewitching combination which one wants to listen to time and again.

In general the sound of the Ann Licater’s album deserves to be mentioned particularly. The mastering engineering of Stephen Hart is high-class work and the sounding of “Doorway to a Dream” is very accurate.

I could stop reviewing the new album by Ann Licater here but it has one more very important feature. The music of “Doorway to a Dream” is saturated with love and when you listen to it you can perceive that only love is the true treasure in our world.
