The music of Michael Hoppe is like a set of colorful landscape pictures. These sketches reflect a wide row of moods and intentions but all of them created and played from the bottom of the artist’s heart.

This time Michael Hoppe shows a new side of his indefatigable talent. The album “Melancolie” is a collection of original romances for harmonica skilfully performed by Joe Powers (harmonica) with accompaniments of Michael Hoppe (keyboards/piano), Also Justin (cello) and Erin Furbee (violin).

As always Michael Hoppe’s music is filled with tenderness and poetics. And it is very exquisite also. This composer’s good taste is felt in every note of the album “Melancolie”. Michael Hoppe has abilities to make each nuance particular and expressive.
