FIELD EFFECT
Residual
(c) (p) 2008 Field Effect Music

“Residual” is the sixth Field Effect’s album to date. The duo continues to experiment in the field of electronic music by combining quaint, synthetic soundscapes of Matt Shire-Jones with the jazzy parts of Tony Gordon’s tenor saxophone and bass clarinet. The result of their joint work is full of futuristic visual images and flaring vibrations of the new Field Effect’s project.
Tony Gordon’s saxophone and bass clarinet bring softness to the music of “Residual”. Their jazz overtones give ground for the sounding of Field Effect whereas Matt Shire-Jones’ electronic improvisations rush to the sky.
The album “Residual” is non-traditional electronic music and it definitely stands out among other projects. The artists create a fantastic world and one can start an exciting journey there. You can completely get lost and find yourself again transformed in this strange and endless universe.
I could characterize the adventurous Field Effect’s music as neo jazz-electronica.
What else can I say about their “Residual” album? Don’t miss this unique project!
