Magical sounds of a flute. Taking us high above and, at the same time
immersing us into the very depths of its essence. Quite simple and very rich
music. Free improvisation and the harmony of the transparent melodies, as
if being woven of pure air. All this is music by Hariprasad, this wonderful,
modest musician, which is, by the way, considered the best flutist of the
world.
All the three compositions, represented in the album, are based on Indian
folklore. Still, they may be rightfully named one large composition, because
this is music-meditation. It is living, and it does not contain any "learning"
and "programming" . This is the very music, which happens to go beyond the
limits of conditioning, which gives to a person the feeling of infinity of
the surrounding world and the self. What else can I add here? Hariprasad
is a real virtuoso. He plays bansuri - Indian bamboo flute. The music, presented
on this CD was recorded on March 30, 1991 at the Gasteig Carl-Orff concert
hall in Munich, Germany. And if you, having read this lines would think something
like: "Well, he knows how to make review. This is a really very 'fresh' album..."
- I will not persuade you. This music is really more fresh than a very last
release. More exactly, Meditative Romance is the music being beyond
time. It can not lose its freshness and novelty. This music possesses the
unique aroma, the aroma of meditation. And you just happen to be dropped
out of the usual limits and come face to face with the Eternity. And everything
goes back. And only you are left. So earthly and at the same time cosmic
flute of Hariprasad is together with you.
His music is so beautiful! It is like a marvelous flower of unusual
beauty, forever alive and forever young.
