JEFF BURAK
Change of Pace

For ten long years Jeff Burak has been aspiring to his debit recording.
Just such a period of his life is reflected in ten instrumental compositions
included in the " Change of Pace" album. And it is very nice that Jeff's
compositions became widely available to listeners because the musician had
put his heart and soul into them. At the same time his compositions in spite
of their seeming simplicity are very melodious and organic. The most impressive
among them, imbued with love and tenderness is " A Wedding Vow" . In addition
to this composition I would like to distinguish the most refined ones: " Keepsake" and " Next Time" .
As for the arrangements they can be shortly characterized as magnificent.
Fans of new age, I think, will be anxious to know that the producer of this
album was nobody else but Mars Lasar. Thanks to his sound-design " Change
of Pace" can be ranked on a par with Mars Lasar's solo recordings.
Except Jeff who played on various guitars: classical, twelve string,
steel string and electric guitars, and Mars Lasar (keyboards and sound design),
Greg Vail participated (alto, tenor and soprano saxophones and a flute) in
recording the album. Thanks to using both metal and nylon strings the sounding
of " Change of Pace" became more polyphonic.
The acquaintance with the Gallery Records was a sudden and immense surprise
for me. The goal of this studio is to let people have a fresh look at themselves
via music and support them in changing their life for the better. The " Change
of Pace" album is the most exactly defined in the words of Jeff Burak himself:
" In expressing the deepest emotions in life, words have always fallen short.
The invisible spirit of music has no limitations. Music sustains, heals,
enriches and celebrates life. My wish is to share that universal language
with you" .
Jeff Burak has brilliantly coped with his task, giving to listeners
a chance to enjoy in full his music which I would define as a romantic new
age. It will be great if Jeff does not keep us waiting for his next album
for ten more years. He is among those musicians one would like to listen
to over and over again.
